From the Dentist’s Mouth
(December 2017)

Thankfully, babies are not born with decay-causing bacteria in their mouth. The bacteria are passed to babies through contact (such as sharing cutlery). The transfer of these harmful bacteria can be delayed if parents and caregivers have healthy, decay-free mouths.
One of the best ways to give your child a head start to staying decay-free is to ensure that your own teeth and gums are clean and healthy. Click here and download “Tooth Decay …” PDF.
Something to Chew Over…
DID YOU KNOW?
The average person consumes approximately 13 teaspoons of sugar a day, that is the equivalent to the amount of sugar in ONE can of soft drink! As we head into the festive season we will all be guilty of having more sugar. An overabundance of sugar on a regular basis is not only detrimental to oral health but also to the rest of your body & deposits FAT!! Take care of yourself these holidays by trying to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and carefully read nutritional content labels to curb “hidden sugar intake”.

EAT FRESH = EAT BEST
